Aerial Yoga Drop-In in Srithanu, Koh Phangan
If you’ve been walking around Srithanu’s Temple road and seen our silk hammocks strung up through the open-air shala, you’ve probably wondered what it actually feels like to practice yoga suspended a few feet off the ground. At ETHOS Shala, you don’t need to book a retreat or sign up for a multi-week course to find out — aerial yoga is offered as a regular drop-in class, open to anyone on the island for a single session.
What is aerial yoga, exactly?
Aerial yoga uses a soft fabric hammock, suspended from the ceiling, to support and deepen traditional yoga postures. The hammock takes weight off your joints and spine, making inversions and deep stretches accessible even if you’ve never tried them on a mat. It’s part strength work, part flexibility, part play — and it tends to surprise people who assume it’s only for advanced practitioners. Most of what we teach in drop-in classes is beginner-friendly by design.
Why try it as a drop-in
Koh Phangan’s yoga scene is full of retreat centers that ask for a weekly commitment. That’s great if you’re staying long-term, but if you’re island-hopping or only in Srithanu for a few days, a drop-in class is the easiest way to experience aerial yoga without any commitment. Just show up, grab a hammock, and go.
At ETHOS, aerial classes run alongside our regular vinyasa, pilates, and breathwork schedule, so you can easily combine a session with a meal at the café afterward — most people roll straight from the shala to a smoothie bowl or purple pancakes in the garden.
